VIERTEL 1 2004

28 MARCH
Nice time at the BITSPLITTERS event.
We can show you a range of fonts, styles and textures, but you,
the valued customer, must make your own decision based on our
subliminal advertising.

BUY MORE BROWN - TODAY!

I mean, Jesus, in 1983 they thought microfilm was the future,
yeah I know, so what I'm saying is, I can't see the point any more
listening to what it is you're saying.

I BREATHE FOR YOU

17 MARCH
I wish this so-called "Age of the Electrical Mini-Computer"
would hurry up and arrive because I'm fed up harvesting potatoes
with my old Sinclair™ calculator. It's not powerful enough
to incorporate the latest stochastic research from Farmer's Weekly
on average potato shape facts or something.

This was a bit of an uninitialised CSurface object in Direct Draw.
It has a regular pattern for the eye to behold, with twiddly little
stochastic bits dotted around.
Direct Draw became popular about a trillion years ago. I have just
completed my first graphics application with it. It is OK, Ja!

ZIRADEFEINE+

15 MARCH
Chroma-crawl. So now you know. Hang on a minute.

SLIEPEIN

07 MARCH
New pics from Ether Festival: ETHER 04 link (magenta blocks).
Tangerine Dream. Mmmmm. Great. There is talk of refunds..

29 FEBRUARY
Technical glitches with the hosting servers caused this site
to disappear for a few days this week. As I write this, I'm
currently re-uploading all 400-odd glitch-art images and animated
gifs to the webspace.

Busy programming new glitch-esque visuals to accompany
Mira Calix (Warp Records) next Saturday. The four of us VJs are each
doing just 30mins so it should be a very intense session.

Also continuing with screenprint classes. You can find pictures of my work
in the grey Klax™ blocks; BX06, BX07 etc. All analog outputs
are numbered sequentially. You've got to have a system.
The classes are at St Barnabas Press.
The master printmaker there is James Hill. He's very good and explains all the
technical details which is ultra-important.

15 FEBRUARY
More Hauppage horrors. This micro-mistuned double super-het
vista of urban ruin beams bright orange lasers into
the alien noisewaves. Humans live in the brown uniformly-colored
pixel landscape.

REAL AIR IS CYAN

09 FEBRUARY
Having fun with a Hauppage TV tuner card that I've
borrowed off a friend. Oh yes, I'm at the cutting
edge of technology. It can't tune into my device
properly, and the capture is a bit wonky, but these
are all plusses in my book. Analog News: Got some
screenprints in the pipeline now!

TORQCH

26 JANUARY
This is inspired by my screen printing, making slight adjustments
to the position of the film positive on the mesh causes aliasing
artefacts (moire patterns). The raw material for this looped filmette
is big RAM powered by tiny, tiny electrical charge packets. Quantum
phase anomalies have little to do with any of it. Paint is great,
all big and gloopy, and great colours - better than on computer screens.
The harsh chemicals are peeling the skin off my hands. It's such
good fun, and the noxious chemical-air (see previous work entitled CHEM-AIR,
which, incidentally, I'm doing a screenprint of) makes a strong change
from sterilised, microhydrogenated computing environments.

There's an aerial growing out of my head. It will be transmitting soon.

18 JANUARY
Accelerated MODE switching on BBC B.

HESC2DRAUN4 (click to enlarge to infinite size)

Click to inflate to screen-filling version without
requiring further byte transmissions over the Inter-Net.
This has a 98% chance of creating secondary glitches
on your own console (excluding MiniTel™),
such as this one, in which I have applied color inference theory.

HESC2DRAUN4 SECONDARY OUTCOME

11 JANUARY
There was quite a commotion at Dark Towers last night when
these prawns spelt out the sign of the Horned Beast, 6.6.6.

BEAST

02 JANUARY
We received the following message from Dark Towers at 07.06 hours today.
We're not sure what to make of it yet, but will
advise you on appropriate action if deemed necessary.
Network rumours saying this is the much-anticipated self-destruct beacon cannot
be relied upon at this stage, although of course the longer this
goes on, the more concerned we will obviously be.
