31 DECEMBER
Let me be the first to wish you all
a very happy new Millenium. It's the
year 2000 at last. Silverette clothes
are mandatory but retro red LED
accoutrements are optional.

[Checkout the Klax™ blocks for new visual and textual goodies.]
This stuff you see, it's only data converted into colours.
Data is only a bunch of integers.
Integers are quite straightforward to deal with. And computers
are dumb enough to want to chew them all day like cows in a
field of green-minded computer students.
Can something new and exciting be done?
Can we escape the gravitational pull of integers?
I have one idea, but it's so retro that it's laughable.
This picture is data. And the next one. It's enough to
make you want to kill yourself. Bloody georgeous to look
at though. Oh yes - that's the whole point of this stuff.

But we like it because it tells us we are happier.
I am 93% happy. When hit 99% I get free healthcare from government.
Yes, of course. I am 93%. How could I not be happy? Printout says so!
These? They my special pills. Red one, blue one, orange one.
Doctor give them free. So I take because they free.
I think he get from Government agency.
Yes, we all have them. We are so lucky. They are good to us.
I don't know...but it from Doctor, so it is OK.
Yes, we all trust the Doctor.
Yes. Yes. Of course we trust Government. They good to us. We very lucky.
I'm not understand...please?
Ah I see! No, no, that way of thinking is not any more.
Oh yes, of course! Sometimes I did - we all did sometimes, you see.
No, but that all stopped, oh, a long, long time ago now...[wistfully]
The red ones I think. Yes, that's right.
Ah you see, those ways all stopped when Doctor give us red ones. But they free, so we take!
No! [laughs] I can't stop taking now!
Yes, I tried once. Maybe twice.
No....it's too hard. We've all tried...
We trust them, yes. We're very lucky. They're very good to us.
Yes, I am 93%. I very happier now!

All our vision of future has gentle coloured fringes that
should be welcomed into our daily-thoughts.
Only psychopath burn floppydisk without tears.
You can't spin it fast enough by hand - that is why you buy computer.
Wet data forced to edge like salad-spinner by special force.
Fire unzips data into steam, vapor. (sic)
Some warping of substrate, inner sterile sleeve.
No, not repairable. Need to replace whole module in one go.
Risk of electric shock? Yes, of course! It's designed that way for special reason!
PREY UNTIL EYES BLEED

Amiga emulator executable data visualised. It's like standing at the beach,
looking out at the waves come in, and they make diffraction patterns due
to the increasingly shallow water - this causes more drag, reducing the
speed, so the wavelength has to change. Something like that. The world is
amazing when you're a kid, it's all bright blue skies and stripey t-shirts.
I am 4.

Video card cruddiness gave birth to this. The brown colouring-in
is entirely my fault. I sign all receipts in my special big brown crayon.
You should see the funny looks I get. People!
Still hungry? Kids! Have a barium meal but then it's straight to bed.
Don't forget to set your counter for 8 Siefert sharp. (CEDE unknown)
