Flat-panel photograms on hand-coated Arches
This was a gallery show for Digital Arts North, and unknown to the organiser, I had recently become interested in traditional photographic developing techniques.
These exposures were created directly from my laptop screen, using the flat panel technique.
Instead of using ordinary photographic paper, I coated high quality printmaking paper with liquid photographic emulsion.
A custom glitch algorithm was imposed upon each photographic image. The source materials were photos of assembly line staff, soldiers on parade, and other workers arranged in linear forms. I had in mind the phrase:- Workers operating machines, machines operating workers.
