Two elements: stripes and spots.
The stripes are spatially separate but form a cohesive unit because they are precisely correlated in one dimension, the horizontal register.
The spots are also spatially separate but are a single entity – a formation – because they are correlated in two dimensions.
The formations in these images reference the aerobatic formations of The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows.
I'm not sure what to make of the last three pieces. The stripes are individually painted rather than in parallel, in a single gesture, so they are a little too careful in execution. Future experiments will take this into account.
